The
most famous flea market in Madrid is the
Rastro (Lavapies
tube) which takes place every Sunday with lots of colourful
stalls of handicrafts, clothes and antiques of all kinds (beware
of pickpockets!) Around the Plaza Mayor (in the very heart
of the historical district of Madrid), you will find some
traditional shops, some said to be more than two hundred years
old, selling the famous fans and embroidered silk shawls as
well as antiques and religious items. And last but not least,
the Corte Inglés with various locations dotted around
the city is Spain's most popular chain of superstores and
a true Aladdin's cave.
Staghen can organise shopping trips
which take you to all of the best shops in Madrid with the
biggest bargains. The other option is to take
Route 2 on our Open Air bus Tour where you can get on and off the double decker tour which passes many of the best stores.
